ARTIST SURVEY QUESTIONNAIRE
Stamper and Reason present revised questionnaire and review feedback gathered from other
council members. M.Katz prompts that we lead with our mission statement.
Food for thought on what we want to do: Act as a resource
Provide a state of the Arts and Culture locally
Promote and Enhance Art and Culture
Provide opportunities
Inclusive to all people, levels of education, skill sets
This led to the group revisiting the duties of the council.
It was agreed that the survey CAN serve as 1. An identification tool, 2. A communication tool, 3.
a promotion tool.
The survey will be collected on software already owned by the city. We reviewed the
Sacramento Artist Registry, Pittsburgh Artist Registry, and discussed others as guidance to form
our categories.
Questions to add: Minority owned business, Female owned business. UNESCO and KyGSA
categories provide even more possibilities for categories including: gastronomy.
Discussion was tabled to allow time to create mission statement to create a lens through which
to craft the final draft of the survey.
UPDATE ON PADUCAH PUBLIC ART PROJECT
April Cochran previously proposed a public art project and fundraiser. While Paducah Power
seems amenable, forward motion has been slow. Cochran moved to postpone the launch of the
project to the next calendar year and to continue to create the process, identify infrastructure
and probe for sponsors between now and next spring. The council was in favor of this
extension.
ADJOURN
Council member April Cochran offered motion, seconded by Council Member Ragland, to
adjourn the meeting. All in favor.
