ORDINANCE NO. 75-8-1162
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE VIII DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING AND

DEVELOPMENT, SECTIONS 2-159 AND 2-160 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH,XENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Article VIII, Department of Planning and Development,
and Section 2-159 "Responsibilities and functions", be amended and reordained so the,
said section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows:

"Sec. 2-159. Responsibilities and functions.
(a) The department of planning and development shall have the responsibility
for:
(1) Building and electrical inspections.
(2) Housing code enforcement.
(3) Coordination of the city's workable program.
(9) Current planning activities, including zoning administration and
subdivision control.
(5) Coordination and administration of federally assisted projects pertaining
to planning, community development and housing.
(6) Such other duties, functions and responsibilities as may later be
delegated by the City Manager.
(b) Such department shall be under the management of the Director of
planning and development and will direct the functions and supervise the personnel of
such sub -departments as community development and housing, building and electrical
inspection, code enforcement and planning, but such positions so absorbed will remain
identicially the same as to status, duties and rates of pay."
SECTION 2. That Section 2-160 "Director" of Article VIII "Department
of Planning and Development" be amended and reordained so that said section as amended
and reordained shall hereafter read as follows:
"See. 2-160. Director.
There is hereby created the position of director of the department or
planning and development who shall be the head of the department. The director shall
be appointed by the Board of Commissioners and shall he under the direction of
and to responsitil(e to the city manager. If the position of director is assigned to a
permanent fulltime employee, such Fmpl•;yee with such additional duty shall receive
compensation at the rate of 5250.00 per month in addition to his or her base monthly
salary."
SECTION 3. This ordinance amends Sections 1, 2 and 3 of an ordinance
adopted by the Board of Commissioners on May 24, 1965.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
