II AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANA(
AND CITY TREASURER TO PAY THE SUM OF $4,129.38 TO SAMUEL TAYLOR ]
AND COMPLETE SETTLEMENT OF ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THE LAWSUP.
SA,IIUEL TAYLOR VS. THE CITY OF PADUCAH, ET AL
WHEREAS, on July 9, 1974, Samuel Taylor, a former employee of the City
of Paducah, filed in the McCracken Circuit Court, Civil Action No. 13537, a lawsuit
against the City of Paducah, et al, and
WHEREAS, said Samuel Taylor, by the aforesaid lawsuit, sought to obtain
pension rights for total and permanent disability from the defendants, plus all back
payments that allegedly had accrued to him since the date of January 3, 1974, and
WHEREAS, upon the advice and recommendation of the Corporation Counsel,
the Assistant Corporation Counsel and the City Manager the Board of Commissioners
of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, now deems that the payment of the aforesaid settlement
sum is just and in the best interest of the City of Paducah, Kentucky.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY T11E BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager and the City Treasurer are hereby
authorized and directed to pay the sum of $4,129.38 to Samuel Taylor as full and complete
settlement for all claims arising out of the lawsuit entitled Samuel Taylor Vs. The City
of Paducah, Kentucky, et al, McCracken Circuit Court, Civil Action No. 13537.
i SECTION 2. That Account No. 1565 is to be charged with the aforesaid

SECTION 3. An emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall
be introduced and remain on file for one week for public inspection in the completed
form in which it shrill be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full
force and effect immedirt ly thereafter.
