HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 859, No Resolution Number8 859 � A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE CITY OF PADUCAH A DISASTER AREA DUE TO EXCESSIVE FLOODING WHEREAS, the Ohio and Tennessee Rivers have overflowed their banks during the months of March and April, 1975, and WHEREAS, the excessive flooding has caused damages to the riverfront improvements, to the streets and roads outside the floodwall; has caused unemployment to industries outside the floodwall causing economic losses; and has increased the costs to the City of Paducah for pumping and the installation of floodgates. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah be, and it is hereby, declared a disaster area due to excessive flooding during 1975. SECTION 2. That the Mayor be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to notify the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and all necessary state and federal officials and to make application for financial assistance from all appropriate agencies.
