CIVIC LEADER
WHEREAS, 1V. Prewitt Lackey was an outstanding community leader, a member
of the Paducah Electric Plant Board, director of the Retail Merchants
Association, a former chairman of the Paducah -McCracken County
Planning Commission. Mr. Lackey was a charter member of the
Junior Chamber of Commerce; a director of the McCracken County
American Red Cross and McCracken County War Bond chairman
during World War 11; and
WHEREAS, his numerous accomplishments reflected constructive, creative lives
that immeasurably enriched this community and truly represented
an outgoing, overflowing way of life; and
WHEREAS, he gave to each of us ideas, dreams, purposes, principles, plans,
vision and faith, by virtue of which he was a builder of more abundant
living for others;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the) city Commission of the City of Paducah,
iKentucky offer on behalf of its citizens its sincere condolences to the
family of W. Prewitt lackey and advances for their consolation the words
of the poet: "In the night of death hope sees a star, and listening love

hears the rustle of an angel's wing."
