HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 735, No Resolution NumberA RESOLUTION IN MEMORY OF LEE LIVINGSTON, AN OUTSTANDING CIVIC LEADER WHEREAS, Lee Livingston was an outstanding community leader, having served twenty-two years as a member of the board of directors of Paducah Water (forks, chairman of the board since 1900; Junior Chamber of Commerce state president in 1944 and a national director; outstanding young man in 1949 and recipient of the National Jaycee Distinguished Service award. In 1949 Mr. Livingston was named outstanding member of the Paducah Kiwanis Club for his community service. He served as secretary - treasurer of the Nest Kentucky Fair, as director of the Greater Paducah Chamber of Commerce, an organizer of the Kiwanis Key Club and Committee chairman of the March of Dimes; and WHEREAS, his numerous accomplishments reflected constructive, creative lives that immeasurably enriched this community and truly repre- sented an outgoing, overflowing way of life; and WHEREAS, he gave to each of us ideas, dreams, purposes, principles, plans, vision and faith, by virtue of which he was a builder of more abundant living for others; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Commission of the City of Paducah, Kentucky offer on behalf of its citizens its sincere condolences to the family of Lee Livingston, and advances for their consolation the words of the poet: "In the night of death hope sees a star, and listening love hears the rustle of an angel's wing."
