ORDINANCE NO. 74-6-982
AN ORDINANCE CLOSING CERTAIN STREETS AND ALLEYS SITUATED
IN WHAT IS KNOWN AS NORTH TYLER PARK AREA, AREA NO. 2 OF THE PROJECT
OF URBAN RENEWAL AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH,KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, does hereby authorize
the closing of certain streets and alleys situated in what is known as North Tyler
Park Area, Area No. 2 of the Project of Urban Renewal and Community Development,
described as follows:
1. All that portion of Bethel Street (extended) extending
from the south line of Vaughan Avenue to the north line
of Yeiser Avenue.
2. The 16 foot alley in Block 3 of Vaughan's Addition.
3. All that portion of Vaughan Avenue extending from the East
line of Main (Mildred) Street eastwardly to the city limit
line.
4. The 16 foot alley in Block 4 of Vaughan's Addition.
5. All that portion of Laurel Street Boone Avenue) extending
from the east line of Main (Mildred) Street eastwardly to
the Floodwall right-of-way.
6. The 16 foot alley in Block 5 of Vaughan's Addition.
7. All that portion of Laurel Street (Boone Avenue) extending
from the west line of Alain (Mildred) Street to the east line
of Tully Street.
8. All that portion of Vaughan Avenue extending from the west
line of Main (Mildred) Street to the east line of Tully Street.
9. All that portion of Leiberman (Ewing) Street extending from the
north line of Yeiser Street to the south line of the Floodwall
right-of-way.
10. The 16 foot alley in Block 2 of Vaughan's Addition.
11. The 16 foot alley in Block 1 of Vaughan's Addition.
12. The 16 foot alley in Block 6 of Vaughan's Addition.
13. All that portion of Tully Street extending from the north line
of Yeiser Street to the south line of the Floodwall right-of-way,
subject to existing easements.
14. The two (2) 15 foot alleys in Block 3 of Gilson, Rock and Tully
Addition, and the 20 foot alley connecting the same at their
east ends.
15. The 20 foot alley between Tully Street and Locust extending north
about 293 feet from the north line of Yeiser Street.
16. The 13 foot alley and the two (2) 12 foot alleys in Block "B" of
Gilson, Rock and Tully Addition.

17. The 13 foot alley and the two (2) 12 foot alleys in Block "A" of
Gilson, Rock and Tully Addition.
18. All that portion of Short Street situated between Blocks "A" and "B"
of Gilson, Rock and Tully Addition, and extending eastwardly from
the east line of Locust Drive a distance of about 330 feet to a
dead end.
19. All that portion of Meyers Street bounded by the following:
Beginning at a point in the Meyers Street north right of way
line where the existing and proposed right of way lines become
tangent approximately 400 feet west of the intersection of Meyers
Street with Locust Drive; thence south 55 degrees 14 minutes
30 seconds east along the Meyers Street north existing
right of way line a distance of 368.56 feet to a point;
thence south 79 degrees 10 minutes 03 seconds west a
distance of 46.20 feet; thence north 55 degrees 14 minutes
30 seconds west along the south existing right of way line
of Meyers Street a distance of 141.20 feet; thence south
34 degrees 55 minutes 071 seconds west a distance of 13.5
feet; thence north 55 degrees 14 minutes 30 seconds west
a distance of 4.85 feet to point in the proposed right of way
line; thence along the proposed right of way line an are
distance of 197.64 feet (said are turns to the left and subtends
a chord having a bearing of north 53 degrees 53 minutes 18
seconds west) to the point of beginning, subject to existing
easements.
20. All that portion of Locust Drive between the south right of way
line of Meyers Street and a point 270 feet southwest from same
and subject to existing easements.
SECTION 2. That the Corporation Counsel of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky be, and he is hereby, authorized, empowered and directed to institute and
prosecute, pursuant to KRS 94.360, an action in the McCracken Circuit Court for a
judgment ordering the closing of the streets and alleys described in Section 1 hereof.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
