HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 572, Ordinance Number 74-4-97257E ORDINANCE NO. 74-4-972 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF REED CRUSHED STONE COMPANY, INC. FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF THE CITY'S REQUIREMENT OF LIMESTONE FOR THE YEAR 1974, TO BE USED IN STREET CONSTRUCTION WORK, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accept the bid of Reed Crushed Stone Company, Inc. for sale to the City of the City's 1974 requirement of limestone to be used in street construction, said bid being in words and figures as follows: "We propose to furnish, sell, and deliver to the City of Paducah, within the city limits, crushed limestone in lots of 100 tons or more, as ordered, for $2.45 per ton (two dollars and forty-five cents per ton). This is a firm price and will not be advanced during the year 1974. In the event of a reduction in our market price, we agree to adjust the price accordingly. We will start delivery within twenty-four hours after receiving each order. Material delivered will be according to Kentucky State Highway specifications for No. 2, No. 3, No. 610, No. 68, No. 78, No. 8, No. 9M, No. 11, and DGA crushed limestone. If the contract is awarded to us, we agree to post a per- formance bond in the amount of $1,000. We also agree to conform with all other requirements as set forth in the request for bids on this material." Said bid being in compliance with the resolution authorizing such bids which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on April 2, 1974, SECTION 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute a contract with Reed Crushed Stone Company, Inc. for the purchase of the limestone as set out in Section 1 above, and according to the provisions in said resolution and in said bid which is dated April 10, 1974. SECTION 3.
