ORDINANCE NO. 74-4-943 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUB -SECTIONS (a) AND (c) OF SECTION 2-54 "AUTOMATIC AND PROGRESSIVE INCREASE FOR APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES", OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That sub -section (a) of Section 2-54 "Automatic and progressive increase for appointive employees", of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said sub -section as amended and reordained shall read hereafter as follows: "Sec. 2-54. Automatic and progressive increase for appointive employees. (a) From and after April 1, 1974, all appointive employees of the City, with the exception of the City Maanager, members of the Police Department, members of the Fire Department and Switchboard Operators in the Fire Department, shall have the following automatic and progressive increases in salary: One dollar fifty cents ($1.50) per month for each complete year of continuous service up to and including a total of twenty (20) years." SECTION 2. That sub -section (c) of Section 2-54 "Automatic and progressive increase for appointive employees" of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah. Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said sub -section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: (c) Increases provided for in this section shall begin for the pay period beginning April 1, 1974, and thereafter, as each employee reaches the next stage as provided for in sub -section (a) hereof, the pay increase provided for such stage shall automatically and immediately become effective." SECTION 3. This ordinance amends an ordinance adopted March 22, 1966 and amended by Ordinance No. 70-4-314 adopted April 14, 1970, and last amended by Ordinance No. 73-3-779, adopted March 13, 1973. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and retroactive to April 1, 1974.
