HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 470, No Resolution NumberA RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF ONE (1) TRUCK AND CHASSIS FOR TWENTY (20) CUBIC YARD REFUSE PACKER BODY, FOR USE BY THE REFUSE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to advertise for bids for sale to the City of Paducah of one (1) truck and chassis for twenty (20) cubic yard refuse packer body, for use by the Refuse Department, having the following minimum specifications: Cab: Cab over motor. C-800 or equal. Wheel Base: 153 inches. C. A. Dimensions: 126 inches + - 4 inches Frame: Constructed to carry a GVWR of 32,000 pounds. Axles: 9,000 pounds front; rear, 22,000 pound capacity, 2 speed Springs: 5,400 pounds front, 12,650 pounds rear. Engine: Gasoline, V-8, 477 cubic inch minimum, 55 amp. alternator and 70 amp battery. Transmission: Five (5) speed manual. Wheels and Tires: wheels disc. Front tires 10 x 20 - 12 ply highway tread. Rear tires 10 x 20 - 12 ply mud and snow tread. Brakes: Full air brakes. Gasoline Tank: Thirty (30) gallon minimum, saddle mounted, left hand side. Steering: Full power steering Clutch: Heavy duty Color: white Options: Front tow hooks and dual west coast type mirrors. Warranty and Delivery: Each bidder shall state the terms of his warranty and the time needed for delivery after receipt of the purchase contract. warranty and delivery will be a consideration in awarding the contract. General: The successful bidder shall be required to deliver the cab and chassis to a location where the refuse body will be installed. All prices quoted shall be F.O.B. point of installation and shall include or refer to state, local and federal taxes. The successful bidder shall furnish two (2) operation and maintenance manuals upon delivery of his machine. 471 The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive any informalities. Trade -In: None. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door, and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun Democrat for not less than seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the opening of same. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the best responsible bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase same until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 3.
