A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR ONE (1) MULTI-PURPOSE HYDRAULIC EXCAVATOR FOR USE IN THE STREET
DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE
SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH,KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to
advertise for bids for the purchase of one (1) multi-purpose hydraulic excavator
for use in the Street Department, having the following specifications:
General
Each machine bid shall be a new current production model or a demon-
strator with not more than two -hundred and fifty (250) hours on the hour -
meter and not more than two thousand (2,000) miles on the truck odometer.
Each bidder shall state the amount which he will accept in cash for
the purchase price of the excavator F.O.B. 919 Madison Street, Paducah,
Kentucky. All bids shall refer to or include all applicable taxes.
Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model which
he bids, and if requested, will exhibit a machine of the same type and
model to the City Commission at the City Hall. Bidders shall also submit
with their bid, the latest printed specifications and pertinent literature
on the machine which was bid. Each bidder shall also be prepared to give
a complete demonstration of the merits of the machine offered.
Upper Structure
A. Minimum Weight 15,000 pounds.
B. Operating engine shall be full diesel, electric start, equipped
with alternator, air cleaner and oil filter. The engine shall have
a minimum of eighty-five (85) horsepower at 2,400 R.P.N.
C. Hydraulic System - 2 section pump delivering minimum 76 G.P.N.,
flange mounted on engine.
D. Equipped with brake to insure against drift or movement with oper-
ator in or out of cab. Brake control lever shall be mounted in cab.
Boom Operating Range
A. Highest position - 33 deg.
B. Lowest Position - 55 deg.
C. Bucker Tilt - 40 deg. in either direction 80 deg.
D. Bucket Wrist Action - 150 deg.
F.. Swing - Continuous
F. Digging Depth - 11' 911.
G. Loading Height - 17' 211.
H. Surface Range - 23' 311.
I. Maximum Working Height - 12' 4".
Cab
All weather with full vision safety glass windows, electric windshield
wipers, 12 volt electrical system, ignition switch, throttle, horn, oil pressure
gauge, water temperature gauge, ammeter gauge and hour meter and all safety
equipment necessary to meet O.S.H.A. regulations.

Mounted on 6 x 4 carrier minimum weight 27,500 pounds.

Warranty
All machines bid, whether demonstrator or new e
a new machine warranty. Each bidder shall state the warra
his machine.
Delivery
Each bidder shall state the time needed for delivery of his machine
after receipt of the contract. Delivery time shall be considered in awarding the
contract.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by notice
posted at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. No bid
shall be opened within ten days from the date on which the resolution is adopted, and

no bid shall be received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids received
by the City Manager up to the time for opening of same shall be filed with the Board of
Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The City
shall have the right to refuse and reject any and all bids.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
