HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 432, Ordinance Number 74-1-921ORDINANCE NO. 74-1-921 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL APPOINTED MEMBERS OF CITY BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEES, AND REQUIRING THE RESIGNATION OF BOARD, COMMISSION AND COMMITTEE MEMBERS WHO FAIL TO COMPLY WITH SAID REQUIREMENTS WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, are of the opinion that all appointed members of city boards, commissions and committees must be faithful and regular in their attendance so that they might properly serve in the fullest capacity in their respective appointed positions, and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, are further of the opinion that when an appointed member cannot meet certain minimum attendance requirements that it serves the best interest of the appointed member, the committee and the citizens of Paducah, Kentucky, to terminate said appointment and to fill such position by appointing another citizen who is willing and able to serve. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That no appointed member of any designated city board, commission or committee shall be absent from more than three consecutive regular board, commission or committee meetings. . SECTION 2. Any appointed member of any designated city board, commission or committee who shall be absent from more than three consecutive regular board, commission or committee meetings shall be considered to have resigned and the Chairman of the respective board, commission or committee shall forthwith notify the City Clerk of said resignation. SECTION 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to notify all present members of designated city boards, commissions and committees of the enactment of this ordinance. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
