AN ORDINANCE DECLARING AN UNNAMED CEMETERY LOCATED WITHIN THE
CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND LYING IN THE MIDST
OF A TRACT OF LAND PRESENTLY OWNED BY THE PADUCAH JUNIOR COLLEGE, TO BE
ABANDONED, AND AUTIiORIZING THE CORPORATION COUNSEL TO INSTITUTE SUIT
PURSUANT TO KRS 381.720
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, the unnamed cemetery lying in the midst of a tract of land presently owned
by the Paducah Junior College has been for a number of years abandoned, and
WHEREAS, the land comprising the said cemetery is now needed for a valid
public purpose by the City of Paducah, or one of its governmental agencies, and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah, Kentucky, has, by virtue of the authority of
KRS 381.720, the power to institute suit for the vesting of the title of the aforesaid cemetery
in the City, or a governmental agency created by it pursuant to or by the authority of the
Kentucky Revised Statutes.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the unnamed cemetery located within the Corporate limits of
the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and lying in the midst of a tract of land presently owned by
the Paducah Junior College, and more particularly described as follows, is declared
to be abandoned:
Beginning at a stone in the South line of the
Blandville Road marking the southeast corner of
a tract of land conveyed by W. M. Carson and his
wife, to the Paducah Junior College (See deed
dated November 10, 1961, and recorded in Deed
Book 429, page 312); thence South 4 degrees 33 minutes
East 537.8 feet to a stone; thence south 85 degrees
27 minutes West 119.6 feet to a stone; thence
North it degrees 33 minutes west 264.0 feet to
a stone; thence north 85 degrees 27 minutes cast
135.3 feet to a stone; thence north 4 degrees
33 minutes west 270 feet to a point in the South
line of the BlandviHe Road; thence north 64
degrees 54 minutes east 16.5+ feet to the point
of beginning, containing one (1) acre according
to Plat of Survey dated December 11, 1961, by
Hollis & Griggs.
Being in all respects a part of the same property
conveyed to D. J. Fraser and L. T. Polk, from
R. O. Woolfolk and W. E. Woolfolk, by deed dated
November 1, 1868, and recorded in Deed Book "S"
page 189, in the office of the Clerk of the
McCracken County Court.

SECTION 2. The Corporation Counsel of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, is
authorized and directed, pursuant to KRS 381.720, to institute suit for the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, or other appropriate governmental agency, to have the aforedescribed property
declared abandoned and to vest title thereto in the name of the City of Paducah, Kentucky.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its adoption.
