ORDINANCE NO. 73-9-882
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $18, 000.00
TO THE MECHANICSBURG CODE ENFORCEMENT PROJECT FOR IMPROVEMENTS ON
VARIOUS STREETS LYING WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY, BUT OUTSIDE OF THE LIMITS OF THE MECHANICSBURG CODE ENFORCEMENT
PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Mechanicsburg Code Enforcement Project, after the letting
of appropriate bids, at the request of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, has caused the
construction and improvements of certain portions of Jarrett, Clements, Ashbrook, Hays,
Ashcraft and Thurman Streets located within the corporate limits of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, but outside of the boundary lines of the Mechanicsburg Code Enforcement
Project, and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah, Kentucky, has agreed to pay for all additional
street construction on the aforesaid streets, and
WHEREAS, said construction was performed entirely outside of the boundary
of the Mechanicsburg Code Enforcement Project and is therefore ineligible for the receipt
of Federal funds, and
WHEREAS, the construction cost has now been determined to be in the amount
of $18,000.00, which sum has not been reimbursed.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Treasurer be, and he is hereby, authorized to pay
to the Mechanicsburg Code Enforcement Project the sum of $18,000.00 for street construction
on portions of Jarrett, Clements, Ashbrook, Hays, Ashcraft and Thurman Streets, lying
within the corporate limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, but outside of the boundary
of the Mechanicsburg Code Enforcement Project.
SECTION 2. That Federal Revenue Sharing Account No. 6285 be charged
with the expense.
SECTION 3. An emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall therefore
be introduced and remain on file for public inspection for at least one week in the completed
form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force
and effect immediately thereafter.
