AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF COPELAND & COLEMAN
EXCAVATING CONTRACTORS FOR THE DEMOLITION OF THE PROPERTY KNOWN AS
THE INTERNATIONAL SHOE FACTORY, LOCATED AT SECOND STREET AND JEFFERSON
STREET, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A JOINT CONTRACT WITH
McCRACKF.N COUNTY, KENTUCKY, FOR THE PAYMENT OF SAID DEMOLITION SERVICES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH,KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, agree to pay $6000.00
to Copeland & Coleman Excavating Contractors for their demolition of the properly
known as the International Shoe Factory, located at Second Street and Jefferson Street.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
to enter into a joint contract with McCracken County, Kentucky, and Copeland & Coleman
Excavating Contractors, for the demolition of the aforesaid property within one Hundred
& Eighty days, with salvage rights being granted to Copeland & Coleman Excavating
Contractors, and further providing that the aforesaid premises shall be left clean and
free of all debris.
SECTION 3. An emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall
therefore be introduced and remain on file for public inspection for at least one week
in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted
shall be in full force and effect immediately thereafter.
