ORDINANCE NO, 73-7-5-5G
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE FROM L. J. GAY AND WIFE,
HAZEL GAY, AND 41IINSTON GHOLSON AND WIFE, MILDRED GHOLSON, OF CERTAIN
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR THE PROPOSED PARK IN THE
CONSERVANCY ZONE
DE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, does hereby authorize the
purchase and does hereby purchase certain land in the City of Paducah, Kentucky
from L. J. Gay and wife, Hazel Gay, and Winston Gholson and wife, Mildred Gholson,
for the proposed park in the conservancy zone, described as follows:
Being Tracts No. 29 (containing 274,428 sq. ft., more or less,)
and No. 31 (containing 906,048 sq. ft. , more or less) referred
to in the Appraisal Report for the City of Paducah Proposed
Park in the Conservancy Zone, dated November 6, 1972.
Said tracts being all that portion of the Grantor's tract lying
below elevation 46 on City of Paducah datum. Said tract lies
in a general area bounded by Irvin Cobb Drive, Mallory Street,
Caldwell Street and a southwesterly projection of the north
right-of-way line of Bachman Street if projected from 10th Street
to Irvin Cobb Drive. The tracts herein conveyed are contained
within the above bounds but do not cover the entire area within
said bounds, and said tract of Grantors was conveyed to L. J.
Gay and wife, Hazel Gay, and Winston Gholson and wife, Mildred
Gholson by Mary Lucille Sanders by deed dated March 9, 1972,
and recorded in Deed Book 538, page 437 in the McCracken County
Court Clerk's office.
SECTION 2. The purchase price to be paid by the City of Paducah for the
land described in Section I hereof is the sum of $5,902.00, and upon the execution of a
general warranty deed from the Grantors mentioned herein conveying the unencumbered,
marketable and fee simple title to said land to the City, and approved by and delivered to
the Corporation Counsel, the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to pay said
purchase price to said Grantors.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on file for at
least one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon
its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect ten days thereafter.
