A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR
BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE NEW PICK-UP TRUCK FOR THE USE OF THE PADUCAH
FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON. WHICH SUCH A
PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
to advertise for bids for the purchase of one (1) new pick-up truck for use by the
Paducah Fire Department, said truck to have the following minimum specifications:
Three quarter ton cab and chassis
Minimum wheel base 127 inches
V8 engine minimum 350 cubic inches
Power steering
Front power disc brakes
Factory installed air conditioning
Lights to meet all ICC regulations
Heavy duty alternator
70 amp battery
Color - fire chief red
West Coast mirrors
Automatic transmission
Standard equipment to be fully described by bidder
A spotlight will be furnished by the City to be installed to City
specifications by the successful bidder.
SECTION 2. Each bidder Shall state the amount he will accept in cash
for the automobile he offers for sale. Each bidder shall state the amount he will allow
for the trade-in of one 1968 Buick LeSabre sedan automobile, which automobile can be
viewed at the Paducah Fire Department. Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular
name and model upon which he bids, and if requested, will exhibit at the City Hall
to the City Officials a similar truck of the model bid upon with the equipment offered, and
each bid shall state the length of time required for delivery after the contract is awarded.
Each bid shall include all appropriate taxes and fees.
SECTION 3. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by notice
posted at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
No bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which the resolution is

adopted, and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids.
All bids received by the City Manager up to the time for opening of same shall be filed
with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the best responsible bidder.
The City shall have the right to refuse and reject any and all bids.
SECTION 4. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
