AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE ZONE CLASSIFICATION OF PROPERTY
ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF JEFFERSON STREET WEST OF 28TH STREET FROM R-1,
LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL ZONE, TO R-3, MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL ZONE
WHEREAS, the Paducah Planning Commission conducted a hearing for the proposed
rezoning of property lying on the south side of Jefferson Street west of 28th Street ata
meeting held on November 6, 1972, and
WHEREAS, after due consideration, the said Planning Commission declined to
recommend said rezoning as proposed, which proposal included property on said
Jefferson Street owned by the American Legion, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah has heard the
recording of the public hearing and has determined that the only objection to such re-
zoning and the only basis for objecting to said rezoning involved the property
of the American Legion, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners finds that a rezoning from R-1 to
R-3 of the remaining property in said proposal would be in agreement with the
comprehensive plan of this community, and would be compatible with general
changes in the neighborhood,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1 . That the zone classification of the following property be, and it
is hereby, changed from R -I, Low Density Residential Zone, to R-3, Medium Density
Residential Zone:
Beginning at a point in the center line of Jefferson Street, which
point is 50 feet north of and perpendicular to a point on the
south right-of-way line of Jefferson Street 118 feet east of the
southeast corner of the intersection of Jefferson Street and
North 31st Street; thence in an easterly direction along and
with the center line of Jefferson Street a distance of 564.67 feet
to a point, same being the point of intersection of the dividing
line between the American Legion and Peoples First National Bank
and Trust Company, if extended; thence at right angles and in a
southerly direction along and with said dividing line a distance of
220 feet to a point; thence at right angles and in a westerly
direction a distance of 104.67 feet to a point; thence at right
angles and in a northerly direction a distance of 8 feet; thence
at right angles and in a westerly direction along and with the I
center line of an alley a distance of 460 feet to a point; thence
at right angles and in a northerly direction a distance of 212 feet,
more or less, to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. That if any section, paragraph or provision of this ordinance
shall be found to be inoperative, ineffective or invalid for any cause, the deficiency
ji or invalidity of such section, paragraph or provision shall not affect any other

section, paragraph or provision hereof, it being the purpose and intent of this ordinance
to make each and every section, paragraph and provision hereof separable from all

other sections, paragraphs and provisions.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
