A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR THE DEMOLITION OF THE PROPERTY KNOWN AS THE INTERNATIONAL SHOE
BUILDING LOCATED ON THE CORNER OF SECOND AND JEFFERSON STREETS IN THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to
advertise for bids for the demolition of the property known as International Shoe
building, located on the corner of Second and Jefferson Streets in the City of
Paducah, Kentucky.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager shall require in his advertisement that
all prospective bidders will state the bid price they will charge for the demolition
services required if (a) the building is to be completely razed and all debris cleared
from the premises in a 160 day period, or (b) the building is to be completely razed
and ail debris cleared from the premises in a 180 day period. That the City Manager
shall also require all prospective bidders to state their bid prices that they will
charge for demolition services with and without salvage rights to the building materials.
SECTION 3. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by posting a notice
at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun -Democrat
not less than seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the opening of same.
All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice
for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed
for opening shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract
to the best responsible bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the
right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase
same until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of the purchase contract.
SECTION 4. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after
its adoption.
