ORDINANCE NO. 73-4- 816
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF HARPER & ARTERBURN, INC.
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF FIRE STATION NO. 5, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH CONSTRUCTION
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky accept the bid of Harper
& Arterburn, Inc. for the construction of Fire Station No. 5 in the total base bid amount
of $149,980.00, said bid being in compliance with the plans and specifications
prepared by Gresham & Kerr, John Keeling Associates and Edward T. Hannan &
Associates, Consulting Engineers, and with the resolution authorizing bids heretofore
adopted by the Board of Commissioners.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to execute a contract with Harper
& Arterburn, Inc. for the construction of No. 5 Fire Station according to Section I
above and according to the plans and specifications and contract documents prepared
by the Architects and Consulting Engineers and incorporated in the Invitation for
Bids and in the bid proposal.
SECTION 3. All costs associated with the construction of No. 5 Fire Station
and this contract shall be paid from Federal Revenue Sharing Funds chargable to
Account No. 2225.
SECTION 4. An emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall
therefore be introduced and remain on file for at least one week for public inspection
in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted
shall be in full force and effect immediately thereafter.
