A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR
FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF THREE PICK-UP TRUCKS FOR USE
STREET AND MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTU
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY C
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, au
and directed to advertise for bids for sale to the City of Paduc
Kentucky of three (3) pick-up trucks for use by the street and m
departments having the following minimum specifications:
"Wheel Base and Bed:
Wheel base shall be a minimum of 131 inches. Bed shall be
or lineside eight (8) foot bed.
Frame:
36,000 P S I section Modulus 2.98 minimum. Maximum G V W
pounds.
Axles:
Front: Optional single I beam, twin I beam or independent
with minimum of 2,750 pound capacity.
Rear: 3,300 pound capacity.
Suspension:
Front: Minimum capacity of 1.175 pounds.
Rear: Minimum capacity of 1,250 pounds.
Front and rear heavy duty shock absorbers.
Brakes:
Disc front brakes. Standard expanding shoe rear brakes.
Transmission:
Standard three (3) forward speed, one (1) reverse
Differential:
Standard 2.73 to 1.0 or 3.25 to 1.0 ratio.
Engin::
The engine shall be a V-8 with a minimum of 302 cubic inch
placement.
Tires:
The tires shall be 700 x 15 tube type, six (6) ply rating.
Gauges:
Gauges shall include: Gasoline, temperature, oil pressure
ampere meter.
Color:
Black
Delivery and Guarantee:

Each bidder shall state the terms of the guarantee that his truck
carries, and shall state the time needed for delivery after receipt
of the purchase contract. Guarantees and delivery date shall be
considered in the bid evaluation.
General:
All prices quoted shall be f.o.b. Paducah, and shall refer to or
include all applicable taxes. Bids should be made including trade-
in, and outright sale excluding trade-in.
Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the
purchase price of the pick-up trucks he offers for sale, and also
the amount to be allowed by accepting as trade-in one (1) 1953
three-quarter ton flat bed truck, identification No. F25R3H47513,
and said flat bed truck may be inspected on request at the Parks &
Recreational Department Garage, Noble Park, Paducah, Kentucky
Each bidder shall, if requested, exhibit a similar pick-up truck
to the model bid upon with the equipment offered, to City Officials
at City Hall.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by
notice posted at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant to KRS
Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on
which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be received after the
hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager
up to the time for opening of same shall be filed with the Board of
Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest responsible bidder.
The City shall have the right to refuse and reject any and all buds.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
