HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 144, No Resolution Number144 V A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF ONE SLOPER DITCHER FOR USE BY THE STREET DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manaber be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to advertise for bids for sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, of one sloper ditcher for use by the Street Department, having the following minimum specifications: Terms Materials shall be of good commercial quality for the intended service and shall be produced by use of current manufacturing processes. Materials shall be treated to resist rust, corrosion, and wear. The design of the mechanical members shall be such that the stress imposed through normal shock Loads at maximum engine torque shall not cause rupture or permanent deformation or undue wear on any member. The bidder shall satisfy the purchasing official that he maintains a store or branch within 50 miles of the working location of the machine, staffed with qualified servicemen and with provisions for storing a representative supply of parts for the machine offered and with provisions for securing parts from the manufacturer within a reasonable length of time. Bidders must submit with their bid the latest printed specifications and advertising literature on the units they propose to furnish. Bidder shall supply one parts book, one service and repair manual and one operator's manual with each unit. Bidder shall prepare to give a complete demonstration of the merits of the machines offered as directed by the purchaser. The machines so demonstrated shall be complete as offered by the bidder for his bid. The bidder shall list on a separate sheet of paper any variations from, or exceptions to, the conditions and specifications of this bid. This sheet shall be labeled "Exception (s) to Bid Conditions and Specific- ations" and shall be attached to the bid. The price or prices quoted shall include all transportation charges fully prepaid to Paducah, Kentucky, Street Department. Purchaser desires delivery to be completed within thirty (30) days of award. Bidder certifies delivery will be completed 30 days from date of award. Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder. The quality of the articles to be supplied, their conformity with the specifications, their suitability to requirements, delivery terms and guarantee clauses shall be taken into consideration. The purchaser reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities in bids, to accept in whole or in part such bid or bids as may be deemed in the best interest of the purchaser. GENERAL: Machine shall be currently advertised standard production sloper ditcher to work on Cat 12-70D 841 motor grader owned by the City Of Paducah. The sloper shall be new. Machine shall meet or exceed all O.S.H.A. safety regulations. 145 WEIGHT: Machine basic weight shall not exceed 5,105 pounds. TRAVELING WIDTH: Machine including grader shall not exceed 10 feet 3 inches traveling width. DRAWBAR: Machine to have rear sliding drawbar with controls in operator's cab HYDRAULICS: Machine shall be operated from motor grader hydraulic system. If additional pump is required, include in price on quote. Three (3) spool valve to be furnished. MOLDBOARD: Machine to have 16 foot long and 20 inches high moldboard equipped with replaceable cutting edges. REAR DRAWBAR: Split type drawbar for each blade removal. MOUNTING: Machine to be quoted delivered and installed on said motor grader. WARRANTY: Machine to have ninety (90) day warranty against defects in material and workmanship. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun -Democrat not less than seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the opening of same. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of name. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the best responsible bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase same until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
