HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 944, No Resolution Number944 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR ONE (1) 1000 GALLON PER MINUTE PUMPING ENGINE FOR USE IN THE PADUCAH FIRE DEPARTMENT, PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested and authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of one (1) 1000 gallon per minute pumping engine with 750 gallon tank for use in the Paducah Fire Department, which equipment shall be according to the specifications compiled by and for the Paducah Fire Department as set out in the detailed specifications received, filed and approved with the Minutes of the meeting of the Board of Com- missioners on March 7, 1972, and in so advertising the City Manager will use substantially the following form: "INVITATION FOR BIDS The City of Paducah, Kentucky, will receive bids for the sale to the City of one (1) 1000 gallon per minute pumping engine with 750 gallon tank for use in the Paducah Fire Department, until 10:00 a.m., on Friday, March 24, 1972, at the Commission Chambers in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at which time and place all bids shall be publicly opened and read aloud. All provisions of the rating bureau shall apply, and the technical specifications may be obtained at the office of the City Manager, or Fire Chief in Paducah, Kentucky. The City of Paducah reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by the City of Paducah for a period not to exceed 90 days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids, investigating the qualifications of the bidder and to insure that all specifications may be met. Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the sale to the City of the described and specified property, including any and all applicable taxes, and each bidder shall state the approximate amount of time for delivery of the pumper, but the time shall not 945 exceed the amount allowed in the detailed specifications. Each bidder shall state all guarantees available for the equipment bid upon, and the successful bidder will be required to deliver the apparatus to the City of Paducah, together with a compeyent and responsible engineer to remain in the City a sufficient period of time to fully acquaint the department personnel with the operation and care of the apparatus. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by notice posted up at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time for opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The City shall have the right to refuse and reject any and all bids. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
