ORDINANCE NO. 72-6-603
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A
CONTRACT WITH THE URBAN RENEWAL AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR THE PURCHASE OF DISPOSAL PARCEL NO. I IN THE
DOWNTOWN CIVIC CENTER PROJECT NO. KY -R-30
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah has heretofore authorized the
Third Amendatory Plan to Urban Renewal Project Ky-R-30, and
WHEREAS, the said Plan provided for the acquisition of real
property in the said project area for the purpose of providing parking
facilities to the project area in the Civic Center, and
WHEREAS, the land has now been acquired by the Urban Renewal
and Community Development Agency of Paducah, Kentucky, and the parcel is
ready for transfer,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor and City Clerk be, and they are hereby
authorized to execute the "Contract for Sale of Land in Downtown Civic
Center Project, Ky-R-30", a copy of which has been received and filed
with the Minutes of the Meeting of January 25, 1972, said contract being
for the purchase of Disposal Parcel No. 1, being approximately one-half
block of real property lying on the south side of.Clark Street and running
between South 4th Street and South 5th Street, and which is more
particularly described in said Contract.
SECTION 2. Upon the execution of said Contract, the City Treasurer
is authorized to pay the agreed purchase price of $72,500.00 from the
proceeds of the revenue bond sale which was held in part for the purchase
of the property.'
SECTION 3. An emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall
therefore be introduced and remain on file for at least one week for public
inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final
passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and -effect immediately there-
after.
