AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUB -SECTION (i) OF SECTION 25-1 "NUMBER RANK AND
SALARIES OF MEMBERS OF DEPARTMENT", of the CODE OF ORDINANCES CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That sub -section (i) of Section 25-1 "Number, rank and
salaries of members of department", be amended and reordained so that said
sub -section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows:
"(i) All members of the department shall receive an initial clothing
allowance of $125.00, and in the event such member shall fail to serve in the
department for more than seventy-five (75) days, all clothing purchased with
the initial clothing allowance shall be returned to the department. All
members of the department shall receive a uniform allowance for each calendar
year following the year of initial employment in the amount of $120.00 which
shall be prorated on a basis of $10.00 per month in the event employment is
terminated within the year of payment. For purposes of calculating a month,
full credit shall be given after the fifteenth day.
Any policeman who is assigned to motorcycle patrol duty on one-third
(1/3) of his duty days shall, after his first nine (9) months of such duty,
receive an additional clothing allowance of one hundred dollars ($100.00);
thereafter as he continues such duty he shall receive an annual one hundred
dollars ($100.00) extra clothing allowance, which shall be paid on the
anniversary date of the first extra allowance; provided, however, that if
said date is nearer than three (3) months to the date of the payment of the
regular clothing allowance, the extra clothing allowance shall be paid three
(3) months before or after the regular date, whichever is nearer."
SECTION 2. The provisions for an initial uniform allowance as
specified in Section 1 above shall be made retroactive for all members
of the Paducah Police Department initially employed during the calendar
year 1971, and this ordinance shall otherwise be in full force and
effect from and after January 1, 1972.
