ORDINANCE NO. 71-12-575
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 3-6, 3-7 AND 3-8 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 3-6 of the Code of Ordinances City of
Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as
amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows:
"Sec. 3-6. When retail premises to be closed -Alcoholic Liquor
or beverages.
No premises for which there has been granted a license for the
sale at retail of alcoholic liquor or beverages shall be permitted to
remain open for any purpose between the hours of 1 o'clock a.m., for
on -premises consumption or 12:00 o'clock midnight for package sales and
8 o'clock a.m. on any week day, nor between 1 o'clock a.m. for on -premises
consumption or 12 o'clock midnight for package sales on Sunday and
the lawful time for opening on Monday morning, nor during the time the
polls are open on any election day."
SECTION 2. That Section 3-7 of the Code of Ordinances City of
Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as
amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows:
"Sec. 3-7. Same - Malt Beverages and beer.
No premises for which there has been granted a license for the
sale at retail of malt beverages and beer shall be permitted to remain
open for any purpose between the hours of 1 o'clock a.m. for on -premises
consumption or 12 o'clock midnight for package sales, and 6 o'clock
a.m. on any week day, nor between 1 o'clock a.m. for on -premises
consumption or 12 o'clock midnight for package sales on Sunday and the
lawful time for opening on Monday morning, nor during the time the polls
are open on any election day."
SECTION 3. That Section 3-8 of the Code of Ordinances City of
Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as
amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows:
"Sec. 3-8. Same - Locking of stock and fixtures deemed compliance
with Sections 3-6 and 3-7.
If a licensee provides a separate department within his licensed
premises capable of being locked and closed off, within which is kept

all stocks of alcoholic liquor or malt beverages, including beer,
and all fixtures and apparatus connected with his business as such
licensee, and said department is kept locked during the times mentioned
in sections 3-6 and 3-7, he shall be deemed to have complied with such
sections. All times provided for herein and in sections 3-6 and 3-7
shall relate to current time whether Standard or Daylight Savings Time.
SECTION 4. Sections 1, 2 and 3 of this ordinance amend Section
17 of an ordinance adopted May 14, 1940 and which was last amended by
Section 1 of Ordinance No. 69-5-206 adopted May 27, 1969.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
