A RESOLUTION .OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS. OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR A
50% FEDERAL GRANT FOR A PUBLIC WORKS PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah, Kentucky is undertaking the
prosecution of a Grant Application through the U. S. Department
of Commerce, Economic Development Administration, requesting
federal assistance for a Public Works Project, under the
provisions of Section 101 of Public Law 89-136 as amended,
known as the Coleman Road Industrial Site Sewage Collection System.
WHEREAS, it has been found and determined by a represen-
tation of the Economic Development Administration that the lack
of a sewage collection system for the Coleman Road Industrial
Site does impair the ability of said site to attract new industry,
thus reducing the.possibility of economic development in the
Paducah area, and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah, Kentucky has heretofore been
authorized to make a feasibility study and prepare an applica-
tion for submission to the Economic Development Administration
for assistance in the City's public improvement program, and
WHEREAS, said study and application are now complete and
prepared and conclusions find it desirable and advantageous
for the City to seek the assistance of the Economic Development
Administration in making public improvements, and
WHEREAS, the public portion of the improvements can be
obtained at 50% cost to the City, County and Greater Paducah
Industrial Development Association jointly, and
WHEREAS, it is recognized that the grant of funds pursuant
to Public Law 89-136 will impose certain obligations and
responsibilities upon the City as applicant,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That an application be filed with the Economic
Development Administration on behalf of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky pursuant to Section 101 of Public Law 89-136, as
amended, for a public works grant of 50% of the cost of under-
taking and carrying out a program estimated to total $268,000.00

for an area specifically designated in such application, and
that the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute
and file such application and provide such additional'infor-
mation and furnish such documents as may be required by the
Economic Development Administration.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall be in full force'and effect
from and after its adoption.
