A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SEWER EXTENSIONS AND A LIFT STATION TO BE
CONSTRUCTED IN THE AREA OF KENNEDY AND LONE OAK ROADS, AND PRESCRIBING
THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH A CONTRACT MAY BE LET
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
to advertise for bids for labor and material to construct sewer extensions
and a lift station in the vicinity of Kennedy and Lone Oak Roads in
Paducah, Kentucky, said advertisement for bids to be in words and figures
as follows:
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
RECEIPT OF PROPOSALS: The Board of Commissioners of the City of
Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky, will receive bids for the construction
of sewerage extensions until 2:00 p.m., C.S.T. on the 16th day of
December, 1971, at the City Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah,
Kentucky, at which time and place the bids will publicly be opened and
read aloud.
PROJECT: The project consists of furnishing materials and con-
structing all the following items:
a. 10" Vitrified Clay Pipe Approximately 1,082 linear feet of
10" vitrified clay sewer pipe.
b. 10" Cast Iron Pipe Approximately 85 linear feet of 10" cast
iron pipe for highway crossing, encased.
C. 6" Cast Iron Pipe Approximately 1,200 linear feet of 6" cast
iron pipe for 6" cast iron force main.
d. Manholes. Approximately 5 manholes.
e. Sewage Pumpg inStation One 9'-6" diameter preconstructed lift
station including wetwell and overflow line and all other incidental work
for installation.
OBRAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: Proposed forms of Contract Documents,
including plans and specifications are on file at the offices of CommuniEy
Program Consultants, Inc., 700 Jefferson Street, Paducah, Kentucky, and may
be obtained at the offices of the Engineer on or after the 25th day of
November, 1971. Copies of the documents will also be on file at the office
of the Associated General Contractors, Paducah, Kentucky.
a. Deposit Required Copies of the documents may be obtained by
depositing $50.00 with the Engineer for each set of documents so obtained.
The deposits of all who submit a Proposal will be refunded in full, upon
return of the Contract Documents in good condition within ten (10) days
after the opening of bids, except the successful bidder, whose deposit
will be retained. Bidders returning unusable plans or specifications,
nonbidders, including material suppliers and subcontractors, and those
returning plans and specifications after the above mentioned ten (10)
day period will be refunded fifty percent (50%) of their deposit.
yROPOSAL GUARANTY: A satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder
and acceptable suerties in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid
shall be submitted with each bid.

PERFORMANCE BOND AND LABOR AND MATERIAL BOND: The successful
bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance
Bond and Labor and Meterial Payment Bond - each in the amount of one
hundred percent (100%) of the Contract, as provided for in the specifica-
tions.
WAGE RATES: Attention of bidders is particularly called to the
requirement as to minimum wage rates as determined by the Department of
Labor, Commonwealth of Kentucky to be paid under this Contract.
OWNER'S RIGHTS RESERVED: The City of Paducah reserves the right
to reject any or all bids or waive any informalities in the bidding.
No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days subsequent
to the opening of bids without the consent of the City of Paducah.

SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by
posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the
request for bids in the Paducah Sun -Democrat as provided for by law.
Bidders shall be notified to obtain copies of the Contract Documents
at the offices of the Engineer, 700 Jefferson Street, Paducah, Kentucky.
All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed
in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City
Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same
shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract
to the lowest responsible bidder. The City shall have the right to
refuse and reject any and all bids.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
