ORDINANCE NO. 70-3-304
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF HARRY BERRY, INC. FOR
RESURFACING VARIOUS STREETS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, INCLUDING THE
RAISING AND RESETTING OF MANHOLES, DURING THE YEAR 1970, AND PRE-
SCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH CONTRACT SHALL BE
MADE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the.City of.Paducah, Kentucky, accept the bid
of Harry Berry, Inc. for resurfacing various streets in the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, including the raising and resetting of manholes
during the year 1970, which bid was as follows:
$6.00 per ton for Class I, Type B bituminous concrete, anticipated
to be in the approximate amount of 8,300 tons: $0.21 per gallon, SS -IH
bituminous tack coat, anticipated to be approximately 7,000 gallons;
$0.21 per gallon, Primer L, anticipated amount approximately 1,400
gallons, and $47.00 per unit, for raising and resetting to grade
approximately 90 manholes, such bid complying with the specifications
as set out in the resolution adopted by the Board of Commissioners
on February 10, 1970, authorizing advertisement for such bids, and
as contained in the bid of Harry Berry, Inc. dated March 4, 1970.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter
into a contract for said resurfacing as set out in Section 1 hereof
and as set out in the said resolution, and the City Manager is to
insure that all requirements contained in said resolution are hereby
complied with, including the requirement for performance bond and
insurance and engineering, and said contract shall further provide
that in the event the contractor's performance is unsatisfactory on
any assigned work that the entire remainder of `the contract may be
cancelled at the option of the City.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on file for
at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which it
shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and
effect ten (10) days thereafter.
