A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE NEW 1972 TWO DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILE FOR USE IN
THE FLOODWALL DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND PRESCRIBING THE
CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF CLMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
to advertise for bids for sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, of one
new 1972 two door sedan automobile for use in the floodwall department
of the City, having the following specifications:
Minimum wheel base shall be 112 inches
8 cylinder engine with minimum displacement of 300 cubic inches
Automatic transmission
Standard equipment including one (1) spare tire and wheel, and all
standard equipment shall be described fully
Color to be off white if vehicle is ordered, and color optional
if vehicle is in stock for immediate delivery.
If any of the following items are not offered as standard equipment
the bid shall include:
(a) Turn signals with emergency flasher switch
(b) Back-up light
(c) Removable oil filter
(d) Circulating fresh air heater and defroster
(e) Dual sun visors
(f) Two -speed electric windshield wipers.
Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the
purchase of the automobile he offers for sale, and also the amount of
such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in one (1) 1966
model, two -door Chevy II sedan. Trade-in can be seen at the Flood Control
office, 2000 South 4th Street.
Each bidder shall fully describe the equipment he offers for sale
and furnish information as to all applicable quarantees, and shall state
the approximate length of time required for delivery after execution of
the purchase contract.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by
notice powted up at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant to
KRS Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within ten days from the date
on which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be received after
the hour fixed for the opening of same. All bids received by the
City Manager up to the time for opening of same shall be filed with

the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest
responsible bidder. The City shall have the right to refuse and reject
any and all bids.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
