A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE NEW 1972 FOUR DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILE FOR USE
IN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH
PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
to advertise for bids for sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, of one
new 1972 four door sedan automobile for use in the Fire Department of the
City having the following specifications:
V8 engine, minimum 350 cubic inches
Minimum wheel base 120 inches
Front power disc brakes
Power steering
Factory installed air conditioning
Heater and defroster
Heavy duty generator or alternator having a minimum rating of
50 amperes
70 amp battery
Heavy duty radiator
Automatic transmission
Lights to meet all ICC regulations
Standard equipment to be described fully
Color - Fire Chief Red
A spot light will be furnished by.the City to be installed to
City specifications by the successful bidder.
Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the
purchase of the automobile he offers for sale, and also the amount of
such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in one (1) 1965
Ford Van now in use in the Fire Department, and shall state the
approximate length of time required for delivery after a contract
is awarded.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids
by notice posted up at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant
to KRS Chapter 424. No bids shall be opened within ten days from the
date on which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be received
after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids received by

the City Manager up to the time for opening of same shall be filed with
the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest
responsible bidder. The City shall have the right to refuse and reject
any and all bids.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
