A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) NEW 1971 FOUR DOOR, MEDIUM SIZED STATION
WAGON FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS
UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
to advertise for bids for sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, of one
(1) new 1971 four door, medium sized station wagon for use in the Police
Department, having the following specifications:
15 inch wheels
Four -ply heavy duty tires (no two-ply with four -ply rating)
Power steering
Power front disc brakes
Seat belts, with automatic rollers
V-8 Engine, minimum 390 cubic inches
Automatic transmission
Spare wheel and tire
Two spotlights (one on each side)
Dual sun visors
Backup lights
Deluxe heater and defroster
Factory air-conditioned
AM Radio
Color: To be determined
Body side protection molding
Tinted glass complete
Wheel covers
Complete package to be described in detail
Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the
Purchase of the automobile he offers for sale.
Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model
upon which he bids, and if requested, will exhibit at the City Hall to
the City Officials a similar vehicle of the model bid upon with the
equipment offered, and shall state the approximate length of time
required for delivery after a contract is awarded. Each bidder must
include or refer to all applicable taxes necessary to be paid by the

City.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids
by notice posted up at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant
to RRS Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within ten days from
the date on which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be
received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids
received by the City Manager up to the time for opening of same
shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract
to the lowest responsible bidder. The City shall have the right to
refuse and reject any and all bids.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
