A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, OF
ONE (1) NEW 1971 COMPACT MOTOR VEHICLE FOR USE BY THE INSPECTION
DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE
SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized and requested to advertise for bids for one (1) new 1971
compact motor vehicle for use by the Inspection Department, having
the following specifications:
6 cylinder water cooled engine
2 doors
1 spare tire and wheel
1 bumper jack and tire or land - lug tool
Turning signals'
Lights to meet ICC regulations
Removable oil filter
Automatic transmission
Fresh air heater and defroster units
Color - off white
Wheel base 106 inches (minimum)
Horse power 115 (minimum)
Dual Sun visors
Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for
the purchase of the vehicle he offers for sale, and also the amount of
such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in one (1)
1966 Chevy 2 -door, Serial No. 113116W17695, and said vehicle may be
inspected on request at City Hall. All prices quoted shall include or
refer to any and all applicable taxes.
Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model
upon which he bids, and if requested, will exhibit at the City Hall to
the City Officials a similar vehicle of the model bid upon with the
equipment offered, and each bid must state the length of time required
for delivery after a contract is awarded.

SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids
by notice posted up at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant
to KRS Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within ten days from
the date on which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be
received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids
received by the City Manager up to the time for opening of same
shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract
to the lowest responsible bidder. The City shall have the right to
refuse and reject any and all bids.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
