A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR
THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) NEW 1971 THREE-QUARTER TON PICK-UP TRUCK FOR USE
IN THE MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PRESCR
THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested
to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky of
one (1) new 1971 three-quarter ton pick-up truck for use by the
Maintenance Department of the City, having the following specifications:
8? foot long body with flat bed, wheel base minimum of
127 inches, V8 engine with 360 cubic inches or more, with
air cleaner, Purolator cartridge type oil filter, directional
signals, lights to meet all ICC regulations, two speed electric
windshield wipers 750x16 6 -ply tire size, rear tires to be
"mud grip" type, spare wheel with tire, defroster, truck heater
fresh air type, equipped with two side mirrors, automatic
transmission, power brakes, power steering, 45 amp battery, 1175
lb. front springs at pad and 2400 lb. rear springs at pad. Color
of truck to be green.
Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for
the purchase of the truck he offers for sale, and also the amount of
such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in one (1)
1956 International, Chassis No. 597434, Motor No. 430391, Model No.
5112. Said vehicle may be inspected on request at the City Hall.
Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model
upon which he bids, and if requested, will exhibit at the City Hall to
the City Officials a similar truck of the model bid upon with the
equipment offered, and each bid must state the length of time required
for delivery after a contract is awarded.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids
by notice posted up at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant
to KRS Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within ten days from
the date on which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be
received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids
received by the City Manager up to the time for opening of same

shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract
to the lowest responsible bidder. The City shall have the right to
refuse and reject any and all bids.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
