A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) NEW 1971 FOUR -DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILE FOR
USE IN THE INSPECTION DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON
WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky of
one (1) new 1971 four -door sedan automobile for use in the Inspection
Department of the City, having the following specifications:
V 8 engine, having a minimum of 350 cubic inches
Wheel base, minimum 120 inches
Power Disc Brakes - front
Power steering
Factory installed air conditioning
Heater and defroster
Lights to meet all ICC regulations
Heavy duty generator or alternator having a minimum rating of
55 amperes, 70 amp battery
Standard equipment to be described fully
Automatic transmission
Color to be specified
Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the
purchase of the automobile he offers for sale, and also the amount of
such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in one (1)
1965 Ford four -door sedan, Serial No. 5A54Z237689, and said vehicle
may be inspected on request at the Central Fire Station. The fire radio,
spot lights, siren and other fire equipment will be removed from the
vehicle to be traded in.
Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model
upon which he bids, and if requested, will exhibit at the City Hall to
the City Officials a similar vehicle of the model bid upon with the
equipment offered, and shall state the approximate length of time
required for delivery after a contract is awarded. Each bidder must
include or refer to all applicable taxes necessary to be paid by the
City.

SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids
by notice posted up at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant
to FRS Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within tendays from
the date on which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be
received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids
received by the City Manager up to the time for opening of same
shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract
to the lowest responsible bidder. The City shall have the right to
refuse and reject any and all bids.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
