HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 576, Ordinance Number 71-5-464576 ORDINANCE 90. 71-5-464 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 2-47, 2-48 AND 2-52, AND REPEALING SECTION 2-53 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, WHICH ORDINANCES FIX SALARIES FOR NONCIVIL SERVICE EMPLOYEES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 2-47 "Noncivil service employees generally", be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "Sec. 2-47. Noncivil service employees generally. (a) The monthly or hourly rate of compensation of the following noncivil service employees of the City of Paducah shall be the amount set opposite the designation of such employment, to -wit: Position Base Monthly Salary Corporation Counsel $1,250.00 Assistant corporation counsel 450.00 Assistant corporation counsel (police court) 600.00 City Treasurer 850.00 Associate engineer 1,000.00 Planning director 1,250.00 Assistant to planning director 526.00 Assistant director of public works 700.00 Street superintendent of public works 700.00 Foreman - public works (3 positions) 600.00 City physician 1,000.00 Clerk of Paducah Police Court 411.00 Deputy clerk, Paducah Police Court 170.00 Field office helper 606.00 Foreman - refuse division 551.00 Housing code enforcement (2 positions) 505.00 Temporary clerks in finance office (4 positions) 250.00 Temporary management intern 400.00 Superintendent of Oak Grove Cemetery 590.00 Switchboard operator 311.00 577 Maintenance Department Noncivil Service Base Hourly Rate Meter maintenance man (1 position) $2.93 Hourly Rate Noncivil Service Employees Laborers in cemetery department (2 positions) 2.40 Collectors in refuse division (22 positions) 2.40 Temporary laborers 2.00 Part-time inspector in inspection department 2.50 Dog warden (1 position) 2.25 (b) The housing code enforcement officer shall be paid at the rate of $505.00 per month for the first six (6) months of employment, at the expiration of six (6) months $515.00 per month, and at the expiration of one year $526.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager. (c) The meter maintenance man shall be paid at the rate of $2.93 per hour for the first six (6) months of employment and at the expiration of six (6) months the rate of pay shall be $2.98 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the city manager. (d) The laborers in the cemetery department shall be paid at the rate of $2.40 per hour for the first six (6) months of employment; at the expiration of six months $2.45 per hour; at the expiration of one year $2.50 par hour and at the expiration of two (2) years $2.55 per hour, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager. (e) Collectors in the refuse division shall be paid at the rate of $2.40 per hour for the first six (6) months of employment; at the expiration of six months $2.45 per hour; at the expiration of one year $2.50 per hour and at the expiration of two (2) years $2.55 per hour, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager. (f) Foreman. The foreman shall be paid at the rate of $600.00 per month for the first year of employment in such position; at the expiration of one (1) year $610.00 per month; at the expiration of two (2) years and thereafter $620.00 per month; such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager. (g) Foreman -refuse division. The foreman in the refuse division shall be paid at the rate of $551.00 per month for the first year of employment in such position; at the expiration of one (1) year $561.00 per month; at the expiration of two (2) years and thereafter $571.00 578 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager. SECTION 2. That Section 2-48 "Mayor and commissioners" of the Code of Ordinances City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "Sec. 2-48. Mayor and Commissioners. Effective January 3, 1972, the salary of the mayor shall be the sum of seven thousand two hundred dollars ($7,200.00) per year, and the salary of each member of the board of commissioners shall be the sum of four thousand eight hundred dollars ($4,800.00) per year." SECTION 3. That Section 2-52 "Alcoholic Beverage Administrator" of the Code of ordinances City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "Sec. 2-52. Alcoholic Beverage Administrator. (a) The person appointed as the city alcoholic beverage administrator for the City of Paducah shall be paid for his services a base salary of five hundred sixty=five dollars ($565.00) per month, said salary to be paid to him at the same time and in the same manner as the salaries of other employees of the city are paid. (b) The said alcoholic beverage administrator shall be paid at the rate of $565.00 per month for the first six (6) months of employment; at the expiration of six (6) months $575.00 per month; at the expiration of one (1) year $585.00 per month; at the expiration of two (2) years $595.00 per month and at the expiration of three (3) years $605.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city SECTION 4. That Section 2-53, "City hall telephone operator and information clerk" of the Code of Ordinances City of Paducah, Kentucky, be, and the same is hereby repealed. SECTION 5. Section 1 above amends section 1 of an ordinance adopted March 16, 1957, and last amended by Section 1 of Ordinance No. 70-11-407, which was adopted November 10, 1970. Section 2 amends sectibn 1 of an ordinance adopted May 1, 1957. Section 2 amends section 4 of an ordinance adopted January 16, 1951 and last amended by Section 1 of Ordinance No. 70-5-324 which was adopted May 12, 1970. Section 4 repeals Section 3 of an ordinance adopted March 5, 1965. 579 SECTION 6. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 7. All portions of this ordinance are severable, and should any section, paragraph or sentence be declared invalid for any reason, such invalidity shall in no way affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance. SECTION S. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and retroactive to May 1, 1971.
