HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 541, No Resolution Number541 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR CHANGE OVER AND CONVERSION OF FM RADIO EQUIPMENT IN THE 150-174 MHZ BAND NOW OWNED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR FUTURE USE IN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested to advertise for bids for the change over and conversion of FM Radio equipment in the 150-174 MHZ Band which equipment is now owned and used by the Paducah Police Department and shall hereafter be used by the Public Works Department, which change over and conversion shall have the following equipment, specifications and bid requirements: The successful bidder shall be required to furnish and change frequency controlling crystals in sixteen (16) FM Two-way radio units which are presently owned by the City of Paducah. Said bidder shall install fourteen (14) FM two-way radio mobile units in various city owned vehicles. Such bidder shall be required to install two (2) FM two-way mobile relays within the city owned buildings and furnish and install outside roof -top antennas and transmission lines for these units. All bids must be signed by an authorized official of the bidding company. Bid amounts shall include all parts to facilitate proper operation of equipment in its new capacity, including all applicable taxes and complete installation within the City of Paducah, Kentucky. The successful bidder shall agree to meet all conditions and commitments of these specifications, and each bidder shall indicate the approximate time required for completion of the work. The successful bidder shall be required to carry all insurance as may be required of its contractors and to provide blanket contractual protection and fire, theft and vandalism insurance for the full value of all meterials and equipment as now owned by the City of Paducah in connection with the work to be performed, and such insurance shall be continued in full force and effect until the completion of the contract. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by notice posted up at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant to KMS Chapter 424. No bids shall be opened within ten days from the date on which this resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids received by the 542 City Manager up to the time for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The City shall have the right to refuse and reject any and all bids. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
