ORDINANCE NO. 71-4-457
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN
ADDENDUM FOR WAGE RATES TO THE CONTRACT EXECUTED ON MAY 10, 1970,
BETWEEN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND THE AMERICAN FEDERATION
OF STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES AFL-CIO LOCAL 1586
WHEREAS, the contract dated May 10, 1970, between the City
of Paducah, Kentucky and the American Federation -of State, County
and Municipal Employees AFL-CIO Local 1586, provided that "effective
May 1, 1971, and notwithstanding other provisions of this contract
to the contrary, the question of wages may be re -opened for negoti-
ations of an appropriate amount for the remainder of the contract
period", and
WHEREAS, the City and the Union have agreed on wage terms
and settlement for the second year of said contract.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized to execute an addendum to the contract dated May 10, 1970
between the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and the American Federation
of State, County and Municipal Employees AFL-CIO Local 1586, said
addendum to be in words and figures as follows:
"THIS ADDENDUM amends a contract dated May 10, 1970, between
the City of Paducah, Kentucky, hereinafter referred to as "City"
and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees
AFL-CIO, Local 1586, and it was bargained and agreed to between the
parties on the day of April, 1971.
W I T N E S S E T H
1. For the period beginning May 1, 1971 to the date of
expiration of the above mentioned contract of May 10, 1970, the
wages of all employees in the positions covered by the bargaining
unit shall be increased by $0.05 per hour base pay.
2. All permanent, full-time employees within the bargaining
unit who have not received an interim $0.10 per hour increase in
pay and who were within the bargaining unit on May 10, 1970, and
who have continued in the bargaining unit, shall be paid in a lump
sum amount of $200.00 each, subject to all applicable withholdings,
representing an increase of $0.10 per hour for 2000 hours, which

each such employee is conclusively presumed to have worked during
the last year.
3. Notwithstanding any provisions to the contrary, effective
as of May 1, 1971, it is further agreed and understood that the total
increase in wages for all permanent, full-time positions within the
bargaining unit shall be $0.40 per hour greater than the amounts
provided for such positions before may 10, 1970.
4. The City agrees that it will make no unilateral wage
adjustments for any positions within the bargaining unit during the
remainder of the term of this contract.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the City hereby executes this contract
addendum by and through its duly authorized City Manager, and the
Union executes this contract by and through its duly authorized
President, on this day of April, 1971.

SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby amended or repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
