A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, OF
TWO (2) 1970 MODEL THREE -WHEEL POLICE VEHICLES, AND PRESCRIBING THE
CONDITIONS UPON WHICH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized and requested to advertise for bids for two (2) new 1970
model three -wheel police vehicles, having the following specifications:
Heavy-duty, air cooled engine of 15 or more horsepower
Tight -fitting, folding or solid type doors
Metal or fiberglass style body
Automotive type steering
Equipped with a minimum 40 amp alternator
Electric starter
Electric Windshield wiper(s)
Equipped with a cab heater, and defrosters
Speedometer
Automatic turn signals with emergency warning blinker
Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for
such vehicles, and will also state the amount he will allow as trade-in
against the purchase price for two (2) 1966 West Coasters now in use in
the Paducah Police Department.
Each bidder shall fully describe the equipment he offers for
sale, and furnish information as to all applicable guarantees, and shall
state the approximate length of time required for delivery after the
execution of a purchase contract. All prices quoted shall include or
refer to any and all applicable taxes.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids
by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of
the request for bids in the Sun -Democrat to be published not less
than seven (7) days nor more than twenty-one (21) days before
the date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed
and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for
the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to
the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed

with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest
and best bidder, and said Board reserves the right to reject any and
all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder
until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a
purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
