HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 376, No Resolution Number376J/ 1 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR ONE (1) USED 25 -TON WRECKER FOR USE IN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to advertise for bids for one (1) used 25 -ton rated wrecker for use in the Public Works Department, said wrecker having the following minimum specifications: Age, 1968 or later, model for truck and wrecker unit Truck chassis and cab and engine must be comparable to or better than a Ford Model 702 Extra heavy springs 25 -ton rated capacity wrecker mounted on chassis Boom capacity 12� tons Drum capacity 34,000 pounds Boom length 13 feet, 9/16 inch service cable Maximum height of wrecker frame above truck frame 74 inches Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for sale to the City of the foregoing property, including any and all applicable taxes, and each bidder shall also list any extra equipment to be included with the unit to make it completely servicable such as choker cables, heavy duty tow bar, extra cable (length and size) and snatch blocks. If delivery shall be other than immediate, each bidder shall state the approximate length of time required for delivery. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by notice posted up at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time for opening same shall be filed with the'Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest responsible bidder, and the City shall have the right to refuse and reject any and all bids. The successful bidder shall be required to present the equipment offered for sale to the Director of Public Works and the Chief Mechanic of the Public Works for their complete inspection and approval as to the soundness of the equipment, before the execution of any contract. 377 SECTION 3.
