A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR ONE (1) NEW 1 -TON DUMP TRUCK FOR USE IN THE CEMETERY
DEPARTMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
and directed to advertise for bids for one (1) new 1 -ton dump truck for
use in the Cemetery Department of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, said
truck having the following minimum specifications:
135 inch wheel base
60 inch cab to axle
360 cubic inch V-8 engine
Heavy duty rear springs
Heavy duty auxiliary springs
7:50 x 16 8 -ply tires, dual on rear (tube type)
4 speed transmission forward
10,000 G.V.W. 9 foot dump body
88 inch width for dump body
12 inch sides
5 ton hoist
Head board and tail gate on dump body
Power brakes and steering
Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the
sale to the city of the foregoing property, including any and all
applicable taxes, and each bidder shall state the approximate amount
of time required for delivery.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by
notice posted up at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant to
KRS Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on
which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be received after the
hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City
Manager up to the time for opening of same shall be filed with the Board
of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest responsible bidder.
The City shall have the right to refuse and reject any and all bids.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
