A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR ONE (1) TRUCK FOR MOUNTING A MOBILE ASPHALT REPAIR UNIT FOR USE
IN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND'
PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE
MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby. authorized
and directed to advertise for bids for the purchase of one (l) truck
cab and chassis for mounting of a mobile asphalt repair unit for use
in the Public Works Department of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and
having the following specifications:
New 1971 truck with 2 -ton chassis and cab rating, comparable
to the Ford F-600 series
330 cu. in. V 8 engine
4 speed transmission
6 - 825 x 20 - 10 ply tires
9300# main rear springs
2250# auxiliary rear springs
Reinforced frame
3000# front spring
7.2 to 1 - 15,000# single speed rear axle
70 amp. battery

The successful bidder will be required to deliver the truck to
the manufacturer of the mobile asphalt repair unit whose bid may be
accepted by the City, and each bidder shall state the amount acceptable
for the purchase of the truck bid upon and delivered as required,
including any and all applicable taxes. The truck to be bid upon shall
be capable of carrying equipment comparable to the Dragon Mobile
Asphalt Repair Unit as manufactured by the Intra -Red Radiant, Inc.
of Peoria, Illinois.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by
notice posted up at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant to
ERS Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on
which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be received after the

hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City
Man ager up to the time for opening of same shall be filed with the Board
of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest responsible bidder.
The City shall have the right to refuse and reject any and all bids.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
