A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR THE PURCHASE OF THREE (3) 1971 ONE-HALF TON PICK-UP TRUCKS FOR USE
IN THE STREET DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH
PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested
to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
of three (3) 1971 one-half ton pick-up trucks for use in the Street
Department, having the following specifications:
Minimum wheel base - 115"
15 inch wheels
Two (2) ply tires - belted
Bed - 6h feet
Heavy duty alternator with a minimum 55 ampere
Seat belts with automatic rollers for each
Minimum 180 horsepower
Engine - V-8
Color - to be specified
Automatic transmission
Heater and defroster - large size
Standard equipment to be described fully
Bumper - heavy duty rear bumper
Dual sun visors
Back-up lights
Spare tire and wheel
Power brakes - shall be of heavy duty variety
having the largest braking surface available
Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the
purchase of each of the three vehicles specified above. The City of Paducah
reserves the right to accept a bid, or portion thereof, for one, two or
three such vehicles.
Each bidder shall state the approximate length of time required
fpr delivery after execution of a contract.
Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model upon
which he bids, and if requested, will exhibit at the City Hall to the City
Officials a similar truck of the model bid upon with the equipment offered.

SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by
posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the
request for bids in the Paducah Sun -Democrat to be published not less than
seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the date fixed for the
opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received
after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids
received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the
opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may
let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Com-
missioners shall reserve the right to reject any and_all,bids, and the
City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption
of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full.force and,effect
from and after its adoption.
