FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) 1971 PICK-UP ONE-HALF TON TRUCK TO BE USED
AS A PATROL AND PADDY WAGON FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING
THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested
to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah of one (1) 1971
pick-up one-half ton truck to be used as a patrol and paddy wagon for the
Police Department, having the following specifications:
Minimum wheel base - long wheel base
Fifteen (15) inch wheels
Two (2) ply tires - belted
Power steering
Air Conditioning - factory installed
Heavy duty alternator with a minimum 55 ampere
Seat belts with aitomatic rollers for each
Minimum 227 cubic inch engine
Color - white
Heavy duty automatic transmission
Heater and defroster - large size
Standard equipment to be described fully
Spotlight furnished by the City, to be installed
by successful bidder
Dual sun visors
Back-up lights
Spare tire and wheel
Power brakes - shall be of heavy duty variety, having
largest braking surface company has available
Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the
purchase of the vehicle specified above, and also the amount of such
purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in one (1) 1968
Chevrolet panel truck, Serial No. CE 1585138751. The City of Paducah
reserves the right to., -remove the radio, flashing lights, sirens and any
regulation police equipment from the trade-in vehicle before it is
released to the successful bidder.

Each bidder shall state the approximate length of time required for delivery
after execution of a contract.
Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model upon
which he bids, and if requested, will exhibit at the City Hall to the
City Officials a similar truck of the model bid upon with the equipment
offered.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by
posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the
request for bids in the Paducah Sun -Democrat to be published not less than
seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the date fixed for the
opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received
after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids
received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the
opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may
let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Com-
missioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids, and the
City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption
of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
