A RESOLUTION REQUESTING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR PIPE AND ACCESSORIES TO BE USED IN THE CONSTRUCTION
OF SANITARY SEWERS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
and directed to advertise for bids for pipe and accessories to be used
in the construction of sanitary sewers in the City of Paducah through
the year 1970, as follows:
8" VCP
6" VCP
6 on 8 Ys
6" curvs, and
6" stoppers
It is estimated that the city's needs for the foregoing
items respectively will be as follows:
3000 L.F.
2500 L.F.
100 PCs.
75 PCs.
100 PCs.
Pipe and fittings to be extra strength clay sewer pipe of the best
quality unglazed vitrified clay conforming to the requirements of ASTM
Designation C200, "Extra Strength Clay Pipe." Jointing material for the
pipe shall be manufactured of polyvinylchloride (PVC) meeting the require-
ments of ASTM Designation 0425, Type II. All bids shall state the unit price
for each item, and each bidder shall guarantee the city against advance in
price during the contract period. Immediate delivery F.O.B. job site
anywhere within the city limits.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids
by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of
the request for bids in the Paducah Sun -Democrat as provided for by
law. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the
hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received
by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening
of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a
contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners
shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall
not become legally obligated to purchase said material until the
adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase
contract.

SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
