A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR TWO (2) REFUSE PACKERS AND TRUCKS FOR USE IN THE REFUSE DgVISION
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CON-
DITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested
to advertise for bids for the purchase of two (2) 16 cubic yard re-
fuse packer trucks approximately equal in specifications to the
Garwood Model LP 716, to be mounted on trucks having the following
specifications:
Manufacturers G. V. rating, 25,000 pound minimum
Tilt cab with reinforced frame
Rear of cab to rear wheels to be 108 inch minimum
Motor: 182 H.P. Minimum gross
Transmission: 5 speed
Clutch: Heavy duty
Equipped with mechanical tachometer R. P. M. Governor
Heavy duty increased capacity cooling system
45 ampere 12 volt alternator
Axles: 18,500 pound single speed rear. 9,000 Front
Springs: Heavy duty rear springs, 10,000 pound, minimum at ground
Heavy duty front springs, 4,500 pound, minimum at ground
Brakes: Heavy duty vacuum over hydraulic
Dual electric windshield wipers
Front bumper equipped with tow hooks
Directional signals front and rear, equipped with hazard switch
West Coast type rear view mirrors, one each side
Fresh air type heater, equipped with defrosters
Tires: Minimum of 10.00 x 20 - 12 ply - 100 level tires and tubes
mounted spare
Wheels: Cast spoke type
Color: Omaha orange and black as designated by using agency
Each bidder shall furnish a complete set of factory specifications
covering the packers bid upon by him; shall include with his bid a
complete set of factory specifications covering the pertinent items
in the foregoing specifications and shall furnish two copies of the
Operation and Maintenance Manuals on the trucks and packers.

Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for
the purchase of each item of equipment offered and for the total of all
of the equipment he offers for sale and also the amount of such pur-
chase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in of one (1) 1960
C750 Ford with 16 cubic yard Garwood Packer body.
Each bidder must include or refer to all applicable taxes in
his bid.
SECTION 2. The.City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by
posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the
request for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published not less than
seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the date fixed for
the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be
received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same.
All bids received by the City Manager up.to the time fixed.in the.
notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Com-
missioners who may let a contract to the lowest responsible bidder,
and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any
and all bids or parts of bids and the City shall not become legally
obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing
the execution of a purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
