A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR ONE WATER PUMP FOR USE AT THE NOBLE PARK SWIMMING POOL, AND
PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE
MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested
to advertise for bids for the purchase of one new pump for use at the
Noble Park Swimming Pool, said pump having the following specifications:
The pump will be a horizontal split case double suction centrifugal
pump. The pump will have a capacity of 1600 GPM at a 50 ft. total head.
Pump Description:
Size: 10 inch suction x 8 inch discharge.
Single Stage.
Case: Cast iron.
Impeller: Bronze.
Wearing Rings: Bronze.
Shaft sleeves: Bronze.
Grease lubricated shaft bearings.
Bedplate: Cast iron.
Coupling: Falk flexible coupling.
Direction of rotation from coupling end is to be clockwise.
Performance curve is to be supplied.
Minimum efficiency at 1600 gpm: 87%
Driver Description
H.P. 25; R.P.M. 1150;
phase/cycle 3/60; volts 230/460, enclosure open; insulation
standard.
Conditions of Service
Liquid: water
GPM: 1600
Suction Lift: Flooded
pH Valve: 7.2 to 7.6

Each bidder shall state the amount of cash he will accept for the
sale to the City of the foregoing pump and each bidder shall state the
amount of time required for delivery after execution of a contract.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by
posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the
request for bids in the Sun -Democrat to be published not less than
seven nor more than twenty-one days before the date fixed for the opening
of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the
hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received
by the City Manager up to the time fixed for the opening of same shall
be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the
lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve
the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become
legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance
authorizing the execution of a purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
