A RESOLUTION TO COMMIT THE CITY OF PADUCAH TO THE EXTENSION OF
SANITARY SEWAGE TREATMENT SERVICES TO SANITARY SEWER DISTRICTS IN THE
AREA SURROUNDING PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah has recently received a grant of
$134,000.00 from the Economic Development Administration to extend

sewer lines beyond the City Limits to the Coleman Road Industrial Site
and to help develop through sanitary sewer facilities the territory in
what is known as the Perkins Creek Watershed area-, and
WHEREAS, the Environmental Protection Agency is considering
extending to the City of Paducah a grant to pay seventy-five percent
of the cost of a needed secondary sewage treatment plant, and
WHEREAS, such grants are to be made available to those cities that
are willing to provide treatment services for areas beyond their own
immediate territorial jurisdictional limits, and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah not only intends to provide such
service and is planning therefor, but is willing to cooperate with the
concepts and requirements of the Environmental Protection Association
in order to obtain such grant for construction of a treatment facility.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah will extend sanitary sewer
treatment facility services to sanitation districts in the areas
surrounding the City of Paducah and accessible to the existing and
expanding sanitary sewage treatment facilities of the City of Paducah,
provided such sanitation districts extend their sewer lines to connect
with city sanitary'sewers.
SECTION 2. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, will provide
required institutional arrangements by contract, annexation or creation
of new districts as may be necessary to provide sanitary sewage treatment

service to territories beyond the jurisdictional and corporate limits
of the City of Paducah, which territories desire to enter into
agreements for sanitary sewage treatment with the City or to provide

such treatment for areas annexed by the City and into which areas the
City extends its present sewage collection facilities.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
