ORDINANCE NO. 72-11-720
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT AND CHANGE ORDER IN THE
CONTRACT WITH B & B CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR CONSTRUCTION OF PHASE II
OF THE PADUCAH RIVERFRONT IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
TO EXECUTE SAID CHANGE ORDER FOR SAID CONTRACT
WHEREAS, on September 12, 1972, an ordinance was adopted accepting
the bid of B & B Construction Company for the construction of Phase II
of the Paducah Riverfront Improvement Project in a total sum of $16,482.00,
and
WHEREAS, since that date it has been determined that excavation and
seeding should be accomplished between the area of the Phase I and Phase II
projects at an estimated total cost of $1,600.00, and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that exposed aggregate concrete
surfaces should be used at the end of the bleachers on both the Broadway
and Kentucky Avenue ends of the project at an estimated increased cost
of $600.00, and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the existing sidewalks from
the floodwall to the project limits should be replaced at an estimated
cost of $500.00,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, by and through its Mayor,
and City Engineer, authorize and accept an amendment to the existing
contract with B & B Construction Company for construction of Phase II
of the Paducah Riverfront Improvement Project, and a change order for
such project to include the additional work referred to above, at a
total increased project and contract cost of $2,700.00 for a total
contract and project cost of $19,182.00.
SECTION 2. An emergency is declared to exist, and this ordinance
shall therefore be introduced and remain on file for public inspection
for one week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its
final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect immediately
thereafter.
