A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO REQUEST AN AMENDMENT TO
CONTRACT NO. DOT -UT -672 BETWEEN THE CITY OF PADUCAH AND THE DEPARTMENT
OF TRANSPORTATION URBAN MASS TRANSPORTATION ADMINISTRATION OF THE UNITED
STATES OF AMERICA
WHEREAS, there exists between the City of Paducah and the United
States of America, Department of Transportation, a contract for an urban
mass transportation study in the total amount of $15,000.00 with the
United States of America paying $10,000.00 and the City of Paducah paying
$5,000.00 with $3,000.00 in cash and $2,000.00 of in-kind services, and
WHEREAS, said contract is No. DOT -UT -672 for Project No. KY -09-0003,
and
WHEREAS, the firm of Schimpeler-Corradino Associates is currefatly
engaged in the performance of the mass transit stody for the City of Paducah,
and
WHEREAS, at the time of the application for the study grant a
transit service was in business in the City of Paducah, but prior to the
beginning of the study, the transit company ceased its operation and there
is no existing service available for study, and
WHEREAS, both the City of Paducah and the Consultant must exert
additional effort in the form of public meetings, questionnaires, surveys,
etc. in order to secure the basic data for the transit facility study, and
WHEREAS, the additional data required will be necessary to make
the transit study comply with the Urban Mass Transportation Eligibility
Guidelines for inclusion in its capital grant program,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor be, and she is hereby, authorized to
request and apply for an amendment to the said existing contract to increase
the total allowable cost for the transit facility study from $15,000.00
to $21,000.00 with the Federal Brant to be increased from $10,000.00 to
$14,000.00 and the City's contribution to be increased from $5,000.00
to $7,000.00 with $3,500.00 to be paid in cash and $3,500.00 to be
contributed from in-kind services.
SECTION 2. In the event the contract is amended and the total
grant increased, the proposed amended contract shall receive final approval
for City Expenditure through the adoption of an ordinance.

SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
